How to Integrate Google Tag Manager with Paperturn
With Paperturn’s Google Tag Manager (GTM) integration, you can easily add tracking tags to your flipbook(s) without any help from us or your developers! With your desired tags, triggers, and variables, you can track specific events and conversions within your flipbooks, helping you expand your knowledge of how your flipbooks perform and how your viewers interact with them.
Note: This feature requires an existing Google Tag Manager (GTM) account and some GTM experience, as setup can be technical. Paperturn can guide you through connecting GTM in our system, but we cannot provide support for GTM itself.
Paperturn Offers Two Options for GTM Integration
Quick jumps:
How to Implement a Global GTM Container for All Flipbooks
Step 1:
To prevent confusion between your site tags and Paperturn tags, we recommend creating a separate container in GTM specifically for Paperturn. This organization will make it easier to manage your tags. Consider naming the container Paperturn for clarity.
Step 2:
After creating a new container for Paperturn, copy its unique ID. The ID is easy to spot as it begins with GTM followed by a series of letters and numbers, like this: GTM-XXXXXXX.
Step 3:
Log in to your Paperturn account and click on Settings located on the main sidebar.
Step 4:
On the Global Flipbook Tracking card, paste the GTM ContainerID into the Global GTM containment ID field and click Save. This will connect all your flipbooks to your GTM container.
How to Implement an Individual GTM Container on a Specific Flipbook
Step 1:
Create a separate container in GTM and name it after the flipbook you want to integrate. Copy its unique ID - the ID is easy to spot as it begins with GTM followed by a series of letters and numbers, like this: GTM-XXXXXXX.
Step 2:
Log in to your Paperturn account, select the flipbook you want to implement GTM to and click on the Settings icon.
Step 3:
On the Flipbook Tracking card, toggle off the Use global GTM container ID option, paste in the GTM container ID, and click Save.
