Santiago peered below, his head to the ground.
Juan dashed to the opposite side, with his head down on the ground – looking eyeball to eyeball
with Santiago.
Matias went to the third side of the sofa shouting, “Elena, you get the side opposite me.”
All four of them were looking eyeball to eyeball, studying the bottom of the red sofa.
“Yeeeeee Muuuuuuu” -- it cries coming from underneath the sofa.
“WE ARE GOING TO GET YOU OUT!” cried Elena.
“LIFT IT UP! HURRY! Each of you – hold it up. I’ll support the middle,” said Santiago, “while
you get it,” looking at Elena.
“Yes – grab it,” confirmed Elena.
Matias immediately heaved, bringing up his end of the sofa
“HAVE YOU GOT IT?” he shouted to Juan.
“I GOT IT,” shouted Juan.
“UP -- UP—UP!” shouted Santiago as they steadily lifted the sofa.
Elena dashed underneath, “Not so fast – I think it is stuck here.”
“YeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,” It cried in pain.
“Where is it?” asked Santiago, stepping under the sofa, pushing the sofa up higher. “Can your --reeeeeeachh it?” losing air.
“Oh NO -- OH NO -- OH NO -- its…. It’s----a puppy.”
“OH NO!” the brothers said in unison.
Her heart trembles to see the condition of this puppy.
“It’s---- stuck … I – can’t get it out,” cried Elena.
Several wires mercilessly dig into the skin on it’s mouth. Foam, dried blood, now crusty, have

It’s claws, so long – it cannot not stand. Its hair matted beyond recognition.
