professionalism
“I approach my work with integrity
and professionalism. The two things a
consultant requires to be successful
are to deliver results to the client and
maintain his or her reputation by carefully
managing relationships within the client
organisation and the wider industry. The
behaviour of every consultant reflects
on the consulting organisation as a
whole. Hence the client’s opinion of the
consulting organisation is a consolidation
of their opinion of individual consultants
(and management).
I believe I have delivered the required
results within my client and have
managed my relationships within the
organisation well, despite the fact that
as a project manager it is sometimes
necessary to have difficult conversations
with client personnel. I believe that the
Innodev consultants have performed
extremely well, hence the continued
growth this client has provided us.”
The BBQ test
“Innodev has always had a mid-year
dinner and an end of year family function.
These are two events I look forward to
each year. One of the standout end of
year functions was 100% organised by
the staff. This particular year a senior
staff member offered to host the BBQ at
his house on his 10-acre property. Staff
all contributed by bringing their favourite
salads, desserts and wines.
This was a great family event and I enjoyed
getting to know everyone in an environment
away from work. The relationships built
at these types of events create a stronger
team and better workplace. It is because
of this, ‘BBQ Test’ is a mandatory part of
my hiring decision when interviewing new
employees, i.e., would I invite this person
and their family to my house for a BBQ?”
