“My client’s project was the largest project within its Enterprise Field Mobility Program.
It was a multimillion-dollar project of four year’s duration, with many challenges
encountered throughout the project cycle.
My involvement in the project started at system integration testing, through to
production deployment and rollout of the application and training to a large number of
field workers. Despite a lot of hard work, the project was not delivering to expectations.
It was clear that a high level of negotiation and stakeholder engagement was required
to achieve the delivery dates.
Working to identify areas of deficiency and to provide support where it was needed
proved the key developing an open, collaborative team that overcame one hurdle at
a time. The team became a ‘committed team’ as they recognised the support from
management and felt appreciated for their efforts. As a PM, we must understand our
team and appreciate and celebrate individual efforts and contributions. Similarly, for
a company, the success relies on the understanding of its employees and obtaining
their commitments to achieve the company vision.”
Client Engagement
“A major digital project was running out of control and required urgent intervention.
I conducted a deep dive session and after consulting with IT management and the
business, we decided to replace the current project manager. I then worked closely
with the new project manager and the business to move towards a more collaborative
delivery approach.
The next phase of the process was to rework the project schedule, conduct a
budget review and re-baseline the project. Through improving change management
procedures and liaising more closely with the business, the situation improved
significantly. The project was deployed to production and the client’s expectations
were successfully managed. The project was delivered under budget and as a result,
a strong relationship was forged with the business and IT. This was recognised as
being due to the work performed by Innodev and led to the client forming a strong
partnership with Innodev.
