Opportunities to grow and develop
“My journey at Innodev has been one of growth. I started here working as a test analyst
on a project. In between my work on that project I was given a project coordinator role on
some small projects where I was producing project reports. I was also fortunate enough to
have Tim invest in training for me.
I completed my PRINCE2 and CSM certifications and was able to spend time working with
some of our senior project managers at a client site, where I got to learn a great deal about
real-world project management. I was then placed in a project management role at a client
site, where I was able to independently deliver projects, successfully.”
Going the extra mile
“Recently I was engaged by a client as a Senior BA because one week into the engagement
the project manager was taken ill. The original PM had not prepared the project startup documentation, which was overdue, hence, I assumed the responsibility of producing
these documents.
The documentation included project plans, schedules, terms of reference for the project
board and stakeholder groups and project roadmaps. It also involved dealing with a hostile
group of stakeholders who had not been consulted prior to project start-up. At the same
time, I was facilitating workshops with a consultant visiting from America.
By creating the documentation, this ensured we were able to meet the first project milestone
of implementing an ERP module in production to manage the financials for research grants.
The client’s management team were appreciative that I could step up and take the reins
while the PM was ill and ensure project milestones were not impacted. This led to two
further extensions of the engagement.”
